Adam Vilaca
Adam is a qualified lawyer admitted in Australia and New Zealand with over 10 years of experience. He has worked for some of the world’s leading consultancies and law firms including PwC, Dentons and Linklaters across London, Sydney and Melbourne.
He regularly advises a variety of clients on regulatory compliance, risk and and financial crime including major global banks in EMEA and APAC, through to small regional payments firms and non-financial services firms, including law firms, oil and gas.
His engagements have included working as a regional MLRO in Europe for a large payments firm, as an investigative lawyer for the Serious Fraud Office in London, as well as supporting businesses dealing with the impacts of international geographic greylisting. He supported a ‘big 4’ bank in Australia with legal crisis management during the Royal Commission into Financial Services as well as intervention by the Australian regulator AUSTRAC.
Adam’s expertise covers policy and regulatory intervention relating to Anti-Money Laundering, Counter-Terrorism Financing, Fraud, Sanctions, Anti-Bribery and Corruption in which he has worked on several FCA Skilled Person reviews. He holds a Masters in Law from the Australian National University and is a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS).
